For Festival of Stitches shawl
Join me for a Festival of Stitches Knit Along (KAL)! This fabulous shawl was originally written as a mystery KAL. A sample is displayed in The Yarn Patch in red, green, and beige.
The shawl begins with a center triangle, and then five sections are added to each side. Each section is knit with a different stitch pattern, so this is a fun way to learn and practice new stitches. Knitters should be comfortable with knit, purl, increases and decreases. Stitch patterns include simple mosaic color work, cables, and simple lace. Bobbles are optional.
The pattern includes both charts and their written out equivalents.
You will need three skeins of fingering yarn, each in a different color. Cascade Yarns Heritage is a great choice.
For more information, a worksheet will be available at the store.
The pattern is by Lisa Hannes / Maliha Designs and is available on Ravelry through The Yarn Patch.
Stitches and techniques used: knit, purl, k2tog, ssk, M1R, M1L, yo, cable, simple lace, simple mosaic color work (using slipped stitches), garter tab cast-on, and bobbles (optional)
