Textured Weaves

This class will be over Zoom.

Add texture to your weaving with simple techniques borrowed from the world of rug weaving. Learn to use soumak, Egyptian knot, twining, and basic rya knots to embellish your plain weave and add surface interest and depth to your projects. Have your loom already warped for a balanced plain weave for the class. You will need shuttles, scissors, a small crochet hook (any size), a pickup stick, more of the same yarn you used for warp (to use for the background weft), and an assortment of short lengths of other colors, textures, and sizes (to use for the pattern yarn).

Skill Level: Intermediate (Must be able to warp the loom and weave a balanced plain weave.)
